On Saturday October 01, 2022, Hanshen High School students had the opportunity to visit the Ontario University Fair (OUF) 2022! This three day event is held annually at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, and each year it draws in over 130,000 visitors.

The Ontario University Fair is the only event of its kind where students can speak with representatives, educators and students from all 21 Ontario universities. Students have the ability to ask specific program questions, admission requirements, or just chat about student life on campus, and other things that make each university stand out from the others.

This year at the OUF 2022, students were able to register for an “OUF Passport” which gave the students a barcode for university representatives to scan, allowing them to get in touch with the students directly to give additional information.

Although the students were originally in a group of about 20, they soon realized they could split up into smaller groups to listen to presentations from specific universities that interested them. As there were so many people in attendance this year, it is not surprising that some of Hanshen’s new high school students made friends with students from different schools!

Once the students had all their questions answered, and had full bags of university information, the students enjoyed a Saturday afternoon in downtown Toronto! We look forward to attending the OUF for next year, with more Hanshen High School students!
